Joyce H. Underwood, 74, of Piggott died Saturday, July 30, 2005, in Murphy Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 23, 1931, in Cardwell, Mo., the daughter of the late George and Bertha Partain Harmon.

She was united in marriage to Charles Underwood on Sept. 14, 1951. They had three children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Johnston and Chlorah Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Underwood of Piggott; three children, Charles William Underwood and wife, Diane, of Memphis, Nancy Holder and husband, John, of Conway and John Steven Underwood of Piggott; two grandchildren, Katie Holder and Rob Holder, both of Conway; four brothers, Robert A. Harmon of Cardwell, Mo., Howard Harmon of Herculaneum, Mo., Roger Harmon of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and John Harmon of Clarksville, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Richard Akins officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Holder, Rob Holder, Steve Underwood, Chuck Underwood, Bob Tidwell and Verlin Moffitt.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
