Ora W. "Doby" Vancil, 91, of Pollard died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

He was a member of Morris General Baptist Church of McDougal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Hitt Vancil; and one grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Smith Vancil of the home; three sons, Hubert Vancil of Campbell, Hugo Vancil of Omaha, Neb., and Jim Vancil of Newport; two daughters, Marlene Vincent and Betty Hefner, both of Campbell; loving-in-laws; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in the Irby Funeral Home Chapel with Loy Culver officiating. Burial followed in the Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal. Pallbearers were Jack Forrest, Don Dillard, Jerry Little, Marshall Little, Sonny Rigdon and Kenny Tyler.

Irby Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
