Winford P. Sims, 75, of Piggott died Monday, July 10, 2005, at his residence.

He was born May 13, 1930, in Georgiana, Ala., the son of the late Leonard J. and Sadie Louise Pierce Sims.

He was united in marriage to Dallace L. Ruckman on Sept. 30, 1981.

He is survived by his wife, Dallace L. Sims of Piggott; three children, Jennifer Renee Askew and husband, Mike, of Norfolk, Va., Myron Dorinda Marinelli and husband, Cliff, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Billie Ann Clark of Crossville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Juanita Townson and husband, Cladie, of Evergreen, Ala., Joy G. Farias of Westminister, S.C., and Minnie F. Carroll and husband, Rudolph, of Westminister, S.C.; one brother, Lamar Sims and wife, Dorothy, of West Covina, Calif.; five step-children, Teresa Roberts and husband, Eugene, of Piggott, Dale Shultz of Piggott, Pamela Busler and husband, Butch, of Dallastown, Pa., Ken Shultz and wife, Pam, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Val Reaves and husband, Greg, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Robert Goodrich, Jessica Sharp, Justin Sharp, Kari Stemple, Tyler Sims, Tiana Clark, Fallon Russell and Carley Shultz; three great-grandchildren, Ian Ludwig, Alexis Russell and Hayden Sims; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Murray officiating.
