William "Bill" Mobley

William "Bill" Mobley, 82, of Blytheville, formerly of Pollard, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, in Blytheville after fighting a long illness.

He was born July 6, 1922, in Memphis.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Galloway on Oct. 8, 1980.

Mr. Mobley retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service and moved to Pollard, where he lived for 21 years. While there he served as mayor and water commissioner.

He is survived by one son, two daughters, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial followed in the Cummins Chapel Cemetery in Pollard. Active pallbearers were Billy Mobley, Jason Gaia, Buck Thomas, Curtis Forrest, Jim McIntosh and Ken Collins. Honorary pallbearers included Jimmy Hanna and Joe Kelly.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
