Brenda Kay Smart, 54, of Marked Tree died Sunday, May 29, 2005, in Marked Tree.

She was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of U.L. and Charlene Wilma Lawerence Watson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, U.L. and Charlene Wilma Watson; and one sister, Angie Whitehorn.

She is survived by one daughter, Dana Smart of Marked Tree; one brother, Gary Watson of Arab, Ala.; close friend, Weir Beckon of Marked Tree; ex-husband, Rickey Smart of Greenway; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today), June 1, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with George Haygood officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth (Hubba) Hansard, Ronnie Nichols, Jim Gearhart, Tom Morris, Mike Patterson and Ricky Hutchens. Honorary pallbearers will include Danny Broughton, Billy Adams, George Britton, Jerry Gibson, Chris Terrell and Joe Johnson.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
