Ray Edward Underwood Sr., 79, of Cahokia, Ill., died on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in Cahokia.

He was born March 9, 1926, in Ullin, Ill., the son of the late Earnest and Vera Underwood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one child.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; and six children.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia, Ill., with Rev. Gene Spurgeon officiating. Burial followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Braun Colonial Funeral Home of Cahokia was in charge of the arrangements.
