He was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Knobel, the son of the late James Howell Tyler and Hazel Fay Floyd Tyler.
He was united in marriage to Carmaleda Kilbreth on June 24, 1989.
Mr. Tyler was a retired truck driver and attended Corning Y Pentecostal Church in Corning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Carmaleda Tyler of the home in McDougal; two sons, Billy Wayne Gilbee of McDougal and Mr. Tyler of Kentucky; one daughter, Terry Boren of Crockett; two brothers, Rev. Bill Tyler of Piggott and Johnie Tyler of Pollard; one sister, Shirley Volner of Cahokia, Ill.; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at noon on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Mike Kipman and Gary Hancock officiating. Burial followed in Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal.
Ermert Funeral Home of Corning was in charge of the arrangements.
