Eugia "Rex" Parrish

Eugia "Rex" Parrish, 72, of Piggott, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at his home in Piggott.

He was born March 20, 1932, in Lafe, the son of the late Robert Alvah and Millie Mamie Watson Parrish.

Mr. Parrish was baptized in the Church of Christ in McDougal and he was a retired farmer.

He was united in marriage to Maggie L. Kemper on Nov. 12, 1949. They had four children.

He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Rex Parrish; and one brother, Hugh Parrish.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie Parrish of Piggott; two daughters, Jeanette Howell and husband, Eddie, of Piggott and Sandy Nelson and husband, Don, of Redfield, Ark.; one son, Gary Parrish and wife, Angie, of Piggott; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Howell, Priscilla Seal, Kristi Smith, Brad Nelson, Danielle Brodnax, Jeff Nelson, Justin Parrish, Andy Parrish, Derren Parrish and Chasidy Parrish; 11 great-grandchildren, Allison Moffitt, Taylor Seal, Brandon Seal, Christopher Smith, Jayanna Smith, Bentley Brodnax, Kaleb Brodnax, Saige Brodnax, Erin Nelson, Katlyn Parrish and Shaylyn Parrish; one brother, Denzile Parrish of Alma, Ark.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Brad Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Justin Parrish, Derren Parrish, Andy Parrish and Wayne Smith.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
