Violet Beatrice Beck

Violet Beatrice Beck, 85, of Rector, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005.

She was born March 5, 1920, in Cardwell, Mo., the daughter of the late Neail and Ada Bell Horner Morries.

She was united in marriage to Carl Franklin Beck Sr. on March 5, 1936. They had eight daughters and three sons.

She lived in Nimmons from 1939 until the time of her death. She was a member of Victory Fellowship Church in Piggott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Beck Sr.; one daughter, Duanita Mauldin; and one son, Wesley Franklin Beck.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Beck Jr. of Rector and Charles Beck of Nimmons; seven daughters, Bonnie Raney of Beebe, Ark., Brenda Hendley of Nimmons, Diane Thomas of Topeka, Kans., Charlene Schleuder of Denver, Colo., Anna Kay Williamson of Wappapello, Mo., Paula Hillis of Wappapello, Mo., and Carlotta Morrison of Paragould; 32 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James C. Morries of Spencer, Ind., and Jessie R. Morries of Valrico, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bill Newman officiating. Burial followed in the Nimmons Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Chad Beck, Jason Beck, Dallas Lewis, Brian Beck, Jeffery Beck and Roger Beck. Honorary pallbearers were Bret Palmer, Terry Palmer, Donald Foster and J.W. Taylor.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
