He was a pipe fitter and an Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rhoda Braden and Valley P. Wright; one sister; and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Verda Maxine Wright of the home; one son, Steven A. Wright and wife, Betty Ann, of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Lola Risener of Kansas City, Mo., and Edith Graddy of Greenway; three brothers, Winfred Wright of Searcy, Ponder Wright of Chandler, Texas, and Dallas Wright of Silver Springs, Md.; and four grandchildren, Meredith Wright, Christopher Wright, Morgan Wright and Lauren Wright, all of Plano.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott with Winfred Wright and Ponder Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery.
