Max Rogers, 76, of Piggott died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Piggott Community Hospital.

He was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Crockett, the son of the late Clarence Earl and Grace McBride Rogers.

He married Dorothy L. Waldo on May 23, 1947. They had three children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Rogers, in 1999; one great-grandson, Austin Higdon, in 2003; and one sister, Gwendolyn Dausch.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Stacy of Piggott and Becky Billips of Corning; one son, Dan Rogers and daughter-in-law, Janet, of Gallatin, Mo.; three grandsons, Darrin Moore, Shannon Higdon and Tyler Higdon; two granddaughters, Brandee Morgan and Jaime Rogers; seven great-grandchildren, Clayton, Shelby, Hunter, Michael, Ashlyn, Shianne and Nathan; a special friend, Joyce Tweedy; an uncle, Myron Rogers; an aunt, Marcella Bailey; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, in Hoggard and Sons Funeral Chapel with Willyne Thompson and Jay McPhearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Howell, Chris Schmidt, Ray McDowell, Jim Nichols, Michael Mack and Paul Tanner.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
