She was born Sept. 26, 1908, in Pollard, the daughter of the late Lenzey Vard and Lula Belle Johnson Underwood.
She was united in marriage to Loy Roosevelt Watson on Dec. 24, 1924, and they had three children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Roosevelt Watson in 1959; one grandson; one son-in-law; four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane Moffitt and husband, Dalphus, of Poplar Bluff, Jean Wheeler and husband, David, of Piggott and Jerry Lean Ivester of Onaway, Mich.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Heitala of Redwood Valley, Calif.; one brother, James Underwood of Little Rock; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers were Stanley Moffitt, Leon Moffitt, Stanley Ivester, Mike Ivester, Grover Baker and Charles Moffitt. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Moffitt, Burl Moffitt, Maynard Morris and Charles Carrens.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
