He was born Jan. 16, 1945, in Piggott, the son of the late Ivory C. and Ethel L. Brandon Mayo.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Madolyn Turner and Betty Mayo.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Mayo, of Piggott; two daughters, Sherrie Wofford and husband, Dale, of Paragould, and Shelly Samples and husband, Bryan, of Piggott; five grandchildren, Brandon Wofford, Sebastian Wofford, Blade Wofford, Hunter Samples and Hayden Samples; one sister, Wilma Dale and husband, James, of Piggott; one brother-in-law, Dallas Fry and wife, Sharon, of Campbell; one sister-in-law, Linda Barnwell and husband, Joe, of St. Clair; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Richard Akins officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.
Mayo's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
