Les Russell

Les Russell, 93, of Corning died on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Clay Healthcare in Corning.

He was born March 29, 1911, in Greenway, the son of Thomas Adron and Jennie Belle Latta Russell.

He was united in marriage to Anna Raye Blackwood on Jan. 7, 1940, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Russell was a former co-owner of Russell-Ermert Funeral Home in Corning as well as a funeral director and embalmer. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Corning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Adron and Jennie Belle Russell; and two sisters, Dorothy Heidbreder and Emma Lou Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Raye Russell of Corning; one son, Don Russell and wife, Clarissa, of Corning; one granddaughter, Alexandria Russell of Corning; two brothers, Lloyd Russell of Piggott and Ivan Russell of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Rev. Larry Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Corning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Gronings, Lonnie McKinney, Blue Riggan, Steve Hardin, Jim Clifton, James Leonard and Bill Pettit.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Corning or Noah's Ark Preschool.

Ermert Funeral Home of Corning was in charge of the arrangements.
