Eunice Maxine Howard

Eunice Maxine Howard, 75, of Piggott died July 3, 2004, at Piggott Community Hospital.

She was born July 4, 1928, in Clay County, the daughter of the late Glen and Floretta Mosbey Malone.

She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Howard on Jan. 17, 1947, in Piggott, they had two children.

Mrs. Howard was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Piggott.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Malone.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Howard of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Rick Gillette of Trumann and Judy and Ivan Smart of Greenway; four grandchildren, Derek Gillette of New Bern, N.C., Bradley Gillette of Trumann, Mindy Carter of Lake City and Shannon Smart of Piggott; and seven great-grandchildren, Tommy Edward Gillette, Emily Ann Gillette, Joseph Gillette, Damon Smart, Shanna Carter, Chandler Smart and Jacob Smart.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Bro. Charles Carrens officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery. Active pallbearers were John Clemons, Shannon Smart, Derek Gillette, Bradley Gillette, John Harlan, Orville Skinner and Damon Smart. Honorary pallbearers were Bo Brandon, Bob Hampton, Dr. Jerry Muse, Dr. Hillard Duckworth and Charles Underwood.

Irby Funeral Service of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements.
