Winifred E. Harris

Winifred E. Harris, 86, of Albion, Mich., died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Tendercare-Albion.

She was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Hunter, Ark., to Homer Ray and Minnie Beulah Pipkin Strickler.

She worked at Union Steel and Corning Glass in Albion for many years before marrying Bernice Harris and moving to Chicago in 1958. She moved back to Albion after her retirement in 1984.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Albion. She enjoyed religious and country music and antique hunting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Ray and Minnie Beulah Strickler; and a niece, Jerre Martin.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth James Strickler and wife, Katherine, of Vandercook Lake; two nieces, Cherre Neitzka of Chicago and Sharon Medina of Vandercook Lake; one nephew, James Bradshaw of Mooresville, N.C.; and one great-nephew, Dennis Neitzka of Albion.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home in Albion with Rev. John Sterner officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.
