Wayne Rodery, 81, of Bernie, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Malden Nursing Center.

He was born in Clay County on March 21, 1923, son of the late Joe Rodery and Ethel Mae George Rodery.

He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Blevins on Dec. 20, 1947, in St. Louis. She preceded her husband in death on March 13, 1990.

He attended the Nazarene Church of Bernie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Floyd Rodery; and one grandson.

He is survived by three sons, Darrell Rodery of Bernie, Kenneth Rodery of Wappapello and Timothy Rodery of Bernie; two daughters, Brenda Caplinger of Parma and Karen Lynn Hunter of Rolla; three brothers, Hillard Rodery of Cartersville, Ga., Laverne Rodery of Campbell and Carlos Rodery of Brighton, Mich.; one sister, Anna Lee Nichols of Piggott; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Wells officiating.

Burial was at the Bernie Cemetery with full military honors.
