Nelda Miriam Settlemoir, 94, of Piggott died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

She was the wife of the late Frank Settlemoir.

She was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Springerton, Ill., the daughter of the late Edmond "Ed" and Clara (Pifer) Johnson.

She was a lifelong member of the community and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Piggott General Baptist Church. She loved quilting, cooking and working in her garden and lawns.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Pat Settlemoir; one son-in-law, Bill Crismon; and one granddaughter, Jerri Lynn Crismon.

She is survived by two daughters, one son, one daughter-in-law and one son-in-law, Louise and J.D. Ellis of Piggott, Glenda Crismon of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Vernon and Peggy Settlemoir of Sherwood, Ark.; one sister, Edna Underwood of Campbell; two brothers, Vernon Johnson of Searcy and Leland Johnson of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Judy Ellis Eubanks, Jim Ellis, Keith Settlemoir, Barry Settlemoir, Allen Crismon, Tom Crismon, Kathy Becker, Dennis, James and John Narlock; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, in the chapel of Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott with Bro. Joe Payne officiating. Burial followed in Piggott Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mrs. Settlemoir's grandsons, Keith Settlemoir, Barry Settlemoir, Allen Crismon, and Mitch Eubanks, Gerald Morris and J.B. Featherston.
