She was born June 2, 1920, in Halliday, Tenn., daughter of G.V. "Bud" Ellis and Ethel Erten Bond Ellis.
She married E.C. Johnson on Dec. 23, 1939, in Kennett.
She was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church in Corning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Kelsey Ellis, Wilburn Ellis, Illa Dee Ellis and Faye Ellis; and one sister, Sally King.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe Johnson and wife Terry of Corning, Jerry Johnson and wife Alma of Corning; two daughters, Willa Dean Hollis and husband Gilbert of Champaign, Ill., and Wilma Jean Atwood and husband Jim of O'Fallon, Mo.; two brothers, Elmer Ellis of Hunnington, Tenn., and Robert Ellis of Florida; three sisters, Genelle Griggs of Tecumseh, Mich., Mary Ellen Massengill of Dexter, and Odessa Downing of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Rev. Don Dingus officiating.
Burial was in Corning Cemetery with Ermert Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Van Johnson, Brian Hollis, Kent Hollis, Kevin Hollis, Jeff Atwood, Mike Couvion, Chad Day and Dave Lehmann.
