Dennis Michael "Babe" Conner, 54, of Piggott died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at his home in Piggott.

He was born August 5, 1949, in Qulin, the son of Elmer G. and Jamima Winingnear Conner.

He was united in marriage to Shirleen "Sherry" Smith on Sept. 27, 1974, to this union one son was born, Michael Wade.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was the street superintendent for the city of Piggott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer G. Conner.

He is survived by his wife, Shirleen "Sherry" Conner of Piggott; one son, Michael Wade Conner of Piggott; his mother, Jamima Conner of Qulin; two brothers, Claude Allan Conner and Donald David Conner of Qulin; tow sisters, Carolyn Dunivan of Poplar Bluff and Cheryl Susie Farley of Crockett; several nieces and nephews; and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (today), May 5, 2004, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with David Finley, Alan Morris and Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Holcomb Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers will be Chad Conley, James Davis, Lambert Williams, Gary Trout, Tony Risinger and Gary Chronister.
