Almeda Nettles Woodard

Almeda Nettles Woodard, 85, of Campbell died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in the National Health Care in Franklin, Tenn.

She was born March 3, 1919, the daughter of the late Harvey and Grace Warren Gower.

She married Bynum Borden Nettles on June 18, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1978. She married Orlie Woodard on March 5, 1988. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Mrs. Woodard worked on the farm, in the home and was employed by the Sanders Confectionary in Highland Park, Mich., for 19 years.

She was an active member of the Church of Christ and was an example of how to show love to others. She loved people and she loved to be with her friends and loved ones. She was always working, serving and caring for others above her own needs. She was known for saying how "precious" her loved ones were to her, and she loved to have a fellowship party.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Hershel Gower.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Borden and Marva Nettles of Franklin, Tenn., and Billy and Joyce of Macomb Township, Mich.; four grandchildren, David, Bruce, Brad and Jon Nettles; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Crow and Johnnie King; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, in Hoggard and Sons Chapel in Piggott with C.O. Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Piggott Cemetery.

Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
