Warren Gene Broughton

Warren Gene Broughton, 73, of Corning died Saturday, July 6, 2002, in Corning.

He was born in Leachville, the son of the late W.H. and Sarah Luella Moye Broughton. He was united in marriage to Margaret Helen Holloway May 1, 1950. To this union six children were born.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 1969; one son, Donnie Broughton, in 1998; and two sisters, Ivy Burns and Ada Broughton.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Broughton and wife, Tamara, of Loves Park, Ill., Billy Broughton and wife, Patricia, of Rockford, Ill. and Bobby Broughton and wife, Kathy, of Loves Park; two daughters, Sandra Blascoe of Piggott and Vickie Fox and husband, Kevin, of Loves Park; 15 grandchildren, Terrina Williams, Dawna Jones and husband Shannon, Julie Bauschlicher and husband Steve, Steven Blascoe and wife Traci, Kevin Blascoe and wife Jenny, Jeremy Blascoe, Phillip Blascoe, Tim Blascoe, Joseph Blascoe, Amanda Blascoe, Ricky Broughton and wife Liz, Beth Bachman, Brian Broughton, Nicole Fox and Kortney Fox; 12 great-grandchildren, Kyle Williams, Meagan Anderson, Nicolas Fox, Jordan Blascoe, Danielle Bauschlicher, Beau Bauschlicher, Heather Blascoe, Cody Blascoe, Aaron Bachman Jr., Brittney Bachman, Brooke Bachman and Jordan Broughton; a very special companion, Pearl Price, of Corning; five brothers, Ezra Broughton and Lester Broughton, both of Jonesboro, Charles Broughton and James Broughton, both of St. Louis, and Bob Broughton of Walnut Ridge; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, in Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Steven Blascoe, Kevin Blascoe, Jeremy Blascoe, Phillip Blascoe, Tim Blascoe, Joseph Blascoe, Rick Broughton and Brian Broughton. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of arrangements.
