Weather fails to dampen fair fun

Rainy conditions put a damper on many of the activities at the 2009 Clay County Fair, but the precipitation wasn't enough to completely spoil the event. Dodging rain showers and sometimes thunderstorms, most of the annual events were held at the fairgrounds. And although the wet weather did affect attendance this year, many of the offerings were well attended...

Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hosting a foster care/adoption seminar beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. The special guest speakers will be Chris Shelton and Amy Harris. Shelton works with the Arkansas Department of Human Services as an investigator with the child protective services. He will be discussing the urgent need for foster homes in Clay County and answer any questions regarding becoming foster parents...
