Country club shop building destroyed by blaze

Insurance investigators combed the remains of the Sugar Creek Country Club's shop building on Friday, trying to determine the cause of last Wednesday's blaze that gutted the structure. Luckily, the fire didn't result in any injuries, but the majority of the club's mowing equipment was destroyed...
Council adopts long-debated livestock ordinance

After months of debate, the city of Piggott now has a livestock ordinance, and landowners who wish to be included in the grandfather clause have 90 days to file their paperwork at city hall. The ordinance was passed by unanimous vote at the council's regular meeting Monday night...
PES students support Make-A-Wish telethon

The Piggott Elementary fourth, fifth and sixth grade students recently took part in the Make-A-Wish telethon staged by KAIT-8 and the Triple FM group at Jonesboro. The students from the three classes brought in donations to the cause on Thursday, Feb. 14, and, as a result, a $550 pledge was made...

He was born in Piggott on July 11, 1940, the son of Ural and Mamie (Davis) Glover. They preceded him in death. He was a Navy veteran and spent his working years with the Ford Motor Company...
