The first merchant to come to Piggott was A. Jack Brown, who erected a box house and opened the first store in 1882. His brother , Jake came a few months later from Illinois and became Piggott's first undertaker .

Jack Brown's store was in south Piggott, below Sugar Creek.

I own one of the older homes in town (built about 1898) in the Templeton Addtn. It is the old Morgan/Montgomery house (254 N. Taylor), where Marie Williams lived. I haven't been able to find who built it, and have a feeling it was by E. L. Templeton, who built the Pfeiffer home some years later. How could I possibly find out the builder and exact date?

I inherited an old bed and dresser. On the back of the dresser is a stamp that says

A & S P Co, Piggott Arkansas. I think the bed was purchased between 1900 and 1910.

Does anyone know who this merchant was and where the merchant was located?

Thanks.
