Basketball updatePosted Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 12:53 PM
The winter weather has left the final weeks of the regular high school basketball season a shambles. Games that were postponed from earlier, are being postponed..and some are not going to be played at all if they don't affect the conference standings.
Here is what we do know--the junior Lady Mohawks were eliminated from their post-season invitational Saturday in an eight point loss. Meanwhile, the Lady Mohawks were able to make up all their games, but are awaiting other teams to finalize their schedules before they'll know who and when they play in next week's district tournament at Earle. The junior boys were scheduled to take on Rivercrest at 5:45 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 10) at Brookland in their post-season invitational tournanment. Meanwhile, the senior boys will attempt to make up a game with Harrisburg Thursday evening at PHS. Regardless of the outcome, the Tribe will take on the Hoxie Mustangs in the first round of the district tourney at Earle at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. More details to come, and hopefully the weather will cooperate these final days of basketball season. |
