NEA bracket break-down

The Piggott Mohawks are slated to take on Crowley's Ridge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, in the first round of the NEA Tournament at Jonesboro. The Tribe is the number eight seed in the A-AA-AAA bracket and the Falcons are the #24 seeds. With a win the Mohawks will advance to play at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, against the winner of the Rector-McCrory game. The Cougars come in as the number nine seeds in the bracket, while McCrory gets the 25th seed.

The third round game will likely see the winner face the top-seeded Armorel Tigers at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27. The semi-final will be played at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29 and the final is set for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Teams with higher seeds in the Mohawk's half of the bracket includes number four Cedar Ridge and number five Rivercrest.

The lower half of the bracket features the number two seeded EPC Warriors and the third-seeded Bay Yellowjackets.

Of course, all games are being played on the main floor of the Convocation Center at Jonesboro.
