Basketball season underwayPosted Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 8:28 PM
The Piggott Mohawks began the 2008-09 basketball season Tuesday night as they traveled to Tuckerman. The junior boys dropped their contest, while the senior boys took their game by a final of 89-72. Sam Yates and Rob Rice led the way for the Tribe, as Yates had 31 points and Rice followed with 30. The varsity win also gives new coach Josh Robins a victory his first time out. Friday night the Mohawks will host the Valley View Blazers in a non-conference game at PHS. The Tribe was scheduled to host Hoxie next Tuesday, but that game will have to be postponed due to the Mustang's involvement in the football playoffs. Next Friday, Nov. 21 the Tuckerman Bulldogs visit the Mohawks, and on Tuesday, Nov. 25 the Corning Bobcats will visit the PHS gym. Thursday night the Lady Mohawks began their season at home as they took on Marmaduke in a non-conference game. We'll have the scores and details in the Nov. 19 edition of The Piggott Times. The Lady Mohawks are scheduled to host the Lady Bobcats of Corning next Monday, Nov. 17, and will visit Brookland on Thursday, Nov 20. |
