NEARK teams in state finals

The state basketball finals will be coming up this week at Summitt Arena in Hot Springs, and the 3A boy's final will include two teams from 3A-3 as the Manila Lions meet the Earle Bulldogs at 5:15 Thursday afternoon.
The girls from Cave City, along with the boys teams from Bay, Hughes, Wynne and Westside will also contend for a title. Here is the complete bracket for all classes, and good luck to our regional squads.

State basketball tournament brackets Now that the Regional Tournaments are complete, the pairings for the State Basketball Tournament have been announced by the Arkansas Activities Association. The Manila and Rivercrest boys, Corning girls, Ridgefield Christian boys team and both the EPC boys and girls are still in the hunt, otherwise the majority of other regional teams are getting set for baseball and softball. Tribe falls to Hoxie in District The Piggott Mohawks put up a good fight, but fell to the Hoxie Mustangs by eight points Tuesday afternoon in the District Tournament at Earle. The final was 60-52 as the Tribe ends this year's campaign. The Mohawks had three players score in double figures, paced by sophomore point guard Spencer Coomer with 11. Meanwhile, juniors Alek Samples and Hayden McMillon finished with 10 points each in the loss...
District Tournament Time The Piggott Mohawks wrapped up the regular season last week, with the boys dropping a home game to Harrisburg Thursday night and a conference game at Earle on Friday. Tonight (Monday, Feb. 15) the Lady Mohawks play their first round district tournament game at 5 p.m. at Earle as they take on Hoxie. Williams named All Star coach, Nagy to team We're still looking for Mohawk history, but wanted to pass along the info on Melissa Williams being chosen as an assistant coach for the All Star volleyball game in June.
