Reunion update

Several classes of PHS, and other groups and families,are planning reunions for the Fourth of July weekend, here is an overview for those out of towners who don't subscribe to the full print on-line edition.

The Piggott High School class of 1959 will hold a 50-year reunion Friday, July 3, at the American Legion building in Campbell. All former classmates are invited to attend. Those who want more information may contact June (Vancil) Williams at 598-3357.

The Piggott High School Class of 1969 will hold a 40-year reunion at 4 p.m. Friday, July 3 at the Piggott Diner.

Class members wanting more information are asked to contact Brenda Smart at 598-8317 or Susan Wells at 544-1223. Organizers also may be contacted at: P.O. Box 81, Greenway, AR 72430.

The Piggott High School class of 1979 will hold its 30th reunion beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, in the kitchen of the Clay County Fairgrounds. Those who want more information may call Brett at 870-598-7072.

The Piggott High School class of 1984 was also planning its 25-year reunion for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4th, at the Campbell Legion. Classmates may visit www.Piggott84.com for details. A reunion of local Korean War-era veterans will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at the Piggott Diner.

Nearly 100 local men were called into action in 1951, although not all of them served in Korea. Reunion organizers hope at least 25 of the former soldiers will be on hand for the occasion.

A reunion of members of the 218th Medical Ambulance Company will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3 at the Piggott Diner. Lunch will be dutch treat, but organizers are asking members to RSVP by contacting Bob Johnson at 870 598-7705. He can also be reached by mail at 3474, CR 481, Piggott, Ark., 72454.

The annual Call's Chapel reunion will be held beginning with regular morning worship services Sunday, July 5. Afterward lunch will be served with the afternoon program to follow at 1 p.m. Those interested in singing, or providing other entertainment, are welcome to do so. Everyone else is encouraged to attend and share their memories.

The Hayes family reunion will be held following the annual parade Saturday, July 4, in Piggott.

The reunion will be held in the kitchen of the Clay County fairgrounds and a potluck lunch will be served at noon.

The annual Pollard school reunion will be held Friday, July 10, in the kitchen at the Pollard picnic grounds.

The potluck meal will be served at 6 p.m. and organizers encourage everyone to come early to allow time to visit prior to the meal. All former students are invited to attend.

Hi!

I am new---so forgive my ignorance---am very excited to try the pork sanwiches on the Fourth--will be coming with John L. Walk class of 60 or 61--I know he went to grade school there and part of High School. if you remember him let me know?
