Although we've just begun with our new web effort obviously it's already drawing interest. Sorry to hear that our first response was negative, but as the response noted it is a work in progress.

As we progress things will improve and we feel that the new and improved website will offer so much more than we could before. We just need a short time to work out the bugs.

I've always contended that one of the things that makes this area special are the great people that we have sent out to populate the free world. I've also lived on the other side of that coin..having spent many years living in the Midwest. So, needless to say, I know the importance of providing our offspring with a chance to stay on top of what's going on back home.

As we venture forth please keep in mind that feedback is important, your participation is appreciated and that we can't please everyone. We will appreciate all your observations, comments, compliments and complaints.

In closing I would like to remind everyone that a free press means a free society and I leave you with the words crafted by our founding fathers and ratified on Dec. 15, 1791. The first amendment to the constitution of the United States of America, as contained in the Bill of Rights, reads.. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedon of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances."

I have to agree with Todd. I Am from Piggott and live in South Dakota. Even though I subscribe to the paper, I love reading it online since the news is usually a week or so late. I don't like the new format. The old one had a better feel and was easier to navigate and more items on it. Sorry, but this is my vote. Please, please bring back the old Piggott Times Online. New is not always better. Let the people decide.

Thank you so much.

Bobby:

I can understand your possible concern about navigation, but I don't understand what content was on the old site that is not on this site.

As time goes along, there will be a lot more content on this new site.

The one thing you will be most interested in, as an out-of-state subscriber, is that the entire content of the newspaper will be online each week.

what about the site where everyone could leave a message/note

We are working on an "Open Forum" and it should have it up within a day or two.

somehow the old one was better.

But I am sure you can make this one good, too.

The new site is looking good so far. I think it will provide opportunity for more content and will be very easy to navigate once folks get the hang of it.

Folks don't like change, but it's inevitable. So embrace it.
